Manchester City Football Club has announced the opening date for its new immersive museum, The Manchester City Museum Experience.

The museum will open on 14 December at Manchester’s £300m Medlock Square entertainment district at the Etihad Campus, with tickets now on sale.

The attraction will open with a temporary exhibition about Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his career at the club. Marking a decade at Manchester City, the exhibition will bring together images and content documenting his time as manager.

Spanning more than 1,700 square metres, the Manchester City Museum Experience allows visitors to explore the football club's heritage and culture.

The museum, spread across ten distinct spaces, combines immersive technology with physical memorabilia to showcase the club's history from 1880 to the present.

The attraction will take visitors through different periods of the club’s history, including recreations of Maine Road Stadium, alongside interactive media experiences and displays of the Club’s major trophies.

Jeremy Maxton, director of visitor attractions at Manchester City Football Club, said: “The Museum Experience has been designed as a destination that goes beyond just the pitch. Whether you're a lifelong supporter, visiting Manchester for a weekend, or simply looking for a unique day out, we've created an experience that offers something for everyone."

He continued: "From the recreated environments and original memorabilia to the interactive elements, there are different ways into the club’s history throughout the Museum.

"We’ve also built in space for new stories to be added over time, so the experience can continue to evolve. It’s been a huge project to bring together and we’re looking forward to people seeing it for themselves later this year."

The Museum Experience has been created in collaboration with Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), which specialises in museum and visitor attraction design.

It will complement the club’s existing stadium tour, which includes the Premier League’s first virtual reality (VR) experience. The wider Etihad Stadium expansion will also include a new fan zone and a 400-bed hotel.
