View From The Shard Unveils London’s Highest Garden on the 72nd Floor

News

View from the Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe, has created the highest green space in London to celebrate The Year of the English Garden.

Produced in partnership with Grow Wild, visitors will be greeted with the scent of flowers as they arrive at the 72nd floor.

The immersive garden, officially opened by Claudia Winkleman, is filled with native pollinator-friendly wild flowers and plants and is intended to provide a calm retreat from the hectic city below. At the end of the summer, the plants will be donated to Grow Wild community gardening projects across the capital.

“At the View from The Shard, it is important that we celebrate and honour English heritage, its culture and future, “ commented Anna Domingo, Marketing Director at The View from The Shard. “Our partnership with Grow Wild in celebration of The Year of the English Garden does exactly that, as it will provide our summer visitors from across the globe the chance to experience a traditional English garden up close, and up high, while promoting the country’s future flower and garden population.”

Cocktails inspired by the gardening theme will also be on sale from a pop-up bar on the Level 72 Skydeck.

The View from the Shard offers 360-degree views for up to 40 miles from the tallest viewing platform in London. It will be running a series of events to mark the The Year of the Garden and British Summertime throughout the summer.
