facts and fiction, a creative agency specialising in experiential spaces, is presenting Wa! Germany, an exhibition from the Expo 2025 Osaka German Pavilion, at locations across the country.
Wa! Germany – The Expo Visits Germany presents a travelling adaptation of the national pavilion concept, and marks the first exhibition from the country's pavilion to tour Germany after an Expo.
The agency is leading the concept, organisation, and implementation of the tour on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Showcasing innovative projects from Germany
Over 150 countries took part in Expo 2025 Osaka, which explored the theme Designing Future Society for Our Lives.

During the event's six-month run, the German Pavilion, titled Wa! Germany, welcomed around 3 million visitors. The exhibition explored the circular economy and, through its reuse beyond the Expo itself, is exemplifying these ideas.
facts and fiction chose six hands-on exhibits from the Osaka exhibition and adapted these for touring. They span circular construction and hydrogen technologies, technology-based agriculture, urban food production, and more.
Each exhibit employs an educational approach proven in Osaka, with an introductory text panel, interactive application that brings it to life, and short video segments that explain projects and innovations from Germany.
The interactives might include a multiplayer game, a pinball machine, or an augmented mirror to virtually try on new materials.
Additionally, the Circulars remain central to the experience. An evolution of the traditional audio guide, these friendly companions explain content, ask questions, and start conversations in a playful and well-founded way.

The exhibition also includes digital stations that let visitors virtually explore the German Pavilion and discover additional Expo 2025 content.
The travelling exhibition is not envisaged as a retrospective, but as a platform for innovative projects from Germany, sparking exchange and networking at each individual location.
These include the Japanese-German Center in Berlin; Stuttgart, Munich, Cologne as part of the Cologne Climate Festival; and Hamburg. In 2027, it will travel to Hanover, Dresden, Jena, Wismar, and Gelsenkirchen. On 23 October 2027, the exhibition will launch as the EXPOSEEUM in Hanover as a permanent display.
Germany’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka was led by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), formerly the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, which commissioned Koelnmesse GmbH to organise and operate the German Pavilion.

The 'German Pavilion Expo 2025 Osaka Consortium,' consisting of facts and fiction GmbH (Cologne) and GL events (Lyon and Japan), was responsible for the German Pavilion's concept, planning, and implementation.
facts and fiction was responsible for the content concept and the exhibition and media design, and GL events for the structural execution. LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture (Berlin) developed the architecture and spatial concept.
Recently, facts and fiction was appointed to develop the concept and design for the German and Austrian pavilions at Expo 2027 in Belgrade, Serbia.
