A 15,400sqm indoor adventure park constructed inside a former Kellogg cereal plant in London, Ontario is scheduled to open in June.
The Factory is being promoted as Canada’s biggest indoor family entertainment centre featuring a ropes course that goes up to 70m high, zip lines, an Ultimate Warrior course, a 1,800sqm trampoline park and a soft play kids area.
The centre will also have a 650sqm airbag, a joust pit, dodgeball courts, tumble tracks, escape rooms, axe throwing, golf simulator and an arcade with 1,200sqm of games, including virtual reality.
While the above will all be ready for the opening, even more is coming in the future. The Factory plans to add a go-kart track, laser tag, mini-golf and adventure climbing.
The entertainment centre is part of the first phase of the redevelopment of the former Kellogg site by E&E McLaughlin. A brewery and tower with office space are also planned for the site.
Competition is ramping up in Canada’s family entertainment space. Cineplex is looking to take a big chunk of the market with it’s The Rec Room and Playdium brands, which target 22-37-year-olds and teens respectively.
Both brands have new locations in development and Cineplex is planning to open 10-15 new sites of each across Canada in the coming years.
