Katapult, the international guest experience design agency, has designed a new playground for Findern Primary School in Derbyshire, UK.
Katapult is pleased to announce that Findern Primary School, as the winner of its Helping Hands competition 2020, is now home to a brand new playground, complete with a climbing frame, multi-sensory garden, creativity stations and breakout areas for storytime.
Katapult’s Helping Hands initiative supports charities and communities. It was set up in 2018 and has so far provided support to Cromford Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as the National Food Museum in East Anglia.
New playground
The company dedicated £10,000 of expertise to the project at the winning school, which included concept design, 3D visualisations and executive production to assist in the playground’s installation. The work took place over the summer holidays and the new facility is now open for pupils to enjoy.
Findern School’s Head Teacher Paula Fox, says: “We are incredibly proud of our reimagined play area and we cannot wait to see our pupils enjoy it every day too. The playground now has an abundance of fun and gives the children a space to be more creative, curious and compassionate to the natural world.”

This summer, Katapult has also created a popular new al fresco dining attraction in Derby, UK, designed to support the city’s hospitality industry and boost visitor confidence. The 330-person capacity outdoor food and beverage destination in the city centre enables visitors to order food from local restaurants and have it delivered to bookable chalets or outdoor tables.
