History-themed entertainment park announced for RAK’s Al Marjan

News
Al Marjan Island RAK

A new $200 million development on Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island has been announced. The project will include a 300 room hotel and entertainment options.

Gulf Business reports that the development will include wellness and active adventure as well as a history-themed entertainment park.

Ivan Richard Menezes, director of United Ventures and Investments Limited, is behind the project.

In a statement he said that, “With our development, we are bringing the region’s largest of its kind attraction in the Middle East offering an experience that will have several innovative feel-good, discovery, fitness, historical and thrill-based offerings that appeal to all from UAE and the world.

“Al Marjan Island and Ras Al Khaimah offer a unique experience and great potential for investment in tourism and leisure.”

Marjan seeks inward investment for mixed use development

Al Marjan Island is a cluster of four man-made islands off the coast of Ras Al Khaima (RAK), UAE.

The Island currently has five-star hotels including Rixos Hotels and Hilton. Emaar is also developing mixed use projects there. RAK strategically re-positioned its offerings for visitors in 2016, with a focus on the themes of activity and adventure, wellness and history.

Last week it was announced that Marjan Properties will act as master developer of freehold property in Ras Al Khaimah, including taking on the assets and activities of Marjan Island.

In a statement, Abdullah Al Abdooli, managing director and CEO of Marjan, said the company was seeking investment for mixed use projects:

“At Al Marjan Island, we offer developers a plug-and-play model of purchasing land with development. The mixed-use project will further drive tourism and also catalyse the economy as a leisure attraction for families, sports lovers, and fitness enthusiasts. We are committed to further strengthening the amenities offered in Ras Al Khaimah.”
