Sports Simulator, a provider of advanced leisure simulators, has announced the addition of bowling sports to its esports portfolio.
The company has released a number of bowling activities including ten-pin bowling and skittles. More specialised bowling variants can also be played such as candlepin bowling, duckpin bowling and nine-pin kegel, making the simulator adaptable for venues around the world.
Designed for matches with up to four players, each bowling sport is recreated to match the experience found at professional bowling centres. To increase competitiveness, match winners will appear on a contest leaderboard, increasing the chances of return visits to improve high scores and an ideal component for online and in-house networked simulators.
Each esport utilises different visual imagery, as well as day and night modes, creating ten different environment possibilities for players.
Sports Simulator says that the ten environments are so realistic that a percentage of bowlers will prefer to practice on the bowling simulator than in traditional alleys.
Prospects for FECs
For operators, there are benefits to utilising the esports technology – bowling lanes are known for taking up large amounts of space, creating obstacles for maximising revenue potential. Custom-made simulators, on the other hand, can fit a space as compact as four by five metres, increasing the revenue potential per square metre.
Two versions of the Sports Simulator are on offer, including the premium 270-degree surround three-screen simulator, and the single 90-degree single-screen simulator.
Sports Simulator offers over 45 sports, with more than 1,100 game challenges playable in nearly three thousand sports venues. A further fifteen sports are currently in development with free of charge updates. Customers have the ability to add the GSX golf, shooting, racing and a flight simulator mode to what Sports Simulator describes as “the world’s ultimate simulator”.
Last month, Sports Simulator examined the latest trends in the leisure and retail sector, including the increasing demand for leisure spaces in malls and shopping centres.
