ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, has unveiled ATRIUM, an innovation that lets indoor water parks extend the TornadoWAVE 60 outside the building while preserving the indoor, year-round ride experience.
ATRIUM was launched in partnership with Aqualibi, the indoor water park at Walibi Belgium, during IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 in London.
Purpose-built for the TornadoWAVE 60, ATRIUM features a large, dome-shaped design made with ProSlide SuperCLEAR fiberglass. Its spacious overhead area and plentiful natural light foster an open, airy atmosphere that maintains the scale and visual impact of the TornadoWAVE experience.
Riders move from the water park interior into the open TornadoWAVE outside area, bathed in natural light, before returning inside.
For indoor water park operators and designers, ATRIUM opens up new ways to utilise valuable indoor space. By placing one of the ride's largest components outside the building envelope, parks can free up indoor floor space for more attractions, amenities, and guest experiences, all while still delivering a large-scale, high-thrill water ride.
Supporting the needs of indoor water park developers
“Indoor water parks face a unique design challenge: every square metre inside the building matters,” says Aaron Wilson, SVP of business development for EMEA & LATAM at ProSlide.
“ATRIUM gives designers and operators greater freedom to think beyond the walls of the park without compromising the scale and impact of the TornadoWAVE experience. Its expansive domed design and natural light create a true atrium around the ride, making the structure part of the experience itself.”
The initial ATRIUM project will enhance Waikiki, Aqualibi's TornadoWAVE ride in Belgium. It builds on the ongoing partnership between ProSlide and Aqualibi, as the park invests in enhancing guest experiences and supporting its sustainability goals.
“As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we decided to invest in this new solution for Waikiki for two main reasons,” says Jean-Christophe Parent, general manager at Walibi Belgium.
“First and foremost, it will further enhance the guest experience and comfort, which remains at the heart of everything we do at Aqualibi. Secondly, it will help us improve our energy efficiency and continue progressing towards our ambition of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

For riders, ATRIUM transforms the transition outside into part of the experience. The domed interior, overhead clearance and natural light create the feeling of a true atrium: expansive, bright and open, while still providing protection from the elements.
ProSlide also recently announced the appointment of Arun Thangaraj to strengthen specialised technical support for ProSlide water park clients across the Middle East.
