Majid Al Futtaim Holding, the leading shopping malls, retail and leisure company across the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, has named Ahmed Ismail as its new CEO.
Founded in 1992, Dubai’s Majid Al Futtaim owns and operates 29 shopping malls, 13 hotels and four mixed-use communities in the UAE.
The group also operates more than 600 Vox Cinemas screens, as well as leisure and entertainment experiences such as Magic Planet and iFly Dubai.
Ismail replaces Alain Bejjani, who served as Majid Al Futtaim Holding’s CEO for eight years. Since 2018, Ismail has overseen the company’s shopping malls, hotels, communities and project management operations.

In December, Majid Al Futtaim opened Snow Oman, the largest snow park in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Located in the Mall of Oman, Snow Oman is home to family-friendly rides including the Mountain Thriller, Roller GliderSnow Bullet, Slide Winder, Cloud Climber, and Zorb Ball.
Majid Al Futtaim opened sister brands Ski Dubai in 2005 and Ski Egypt in 2017. Ski Dubai has been named the world’s best indoor ski resort by the World Ski Awards for seven consecutive years.
In the first half of last year, Majid Al Futtaim reported revenue of AED 18 billion ($4.9 billion), an increase of 15 percent compared to the first half of 2021.
