Majid Al Futtaim and Dreamscape have launched a new virtual reality (VR) attraction at Riyadh Park Mall in Saudi Arabia.

The launch of the first Dreamscape in Saudi comes three years after the VR experience made its debut in the Middle East at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates.

Guests in Riyadh will enjoy Dreamscape’s full-body tracking technology as they are immersed in realistic and interactive worlds.

The attraction offers four themed VR experiences – DreamWorks Dragons: Flight Academy, Alien Zoo, Curse of the Lost Pearl: A Magic Projector Adventure, and MIB: First Assignment.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Majid Al Futtaim as it expands our next generation immersive experiences across the region,” said Aaron Grosky, president and COO of Dreamscape.

“Dreamscape was founded to be a place where people make lifelong memories by exploring fantastical worlds with their friends and family.”

Majid Al Futtaim‘s entertainment offerings at Riyadh Park Mall also include Vox Cinemas, Yalla! Bowling and Magic Planet.

Saudi Arabia is developing myriad attractions as part of Vision 2030, an attempt to diversify the country’s economy away from oil.

Ignace Lahoud, CEO of leisure, entertainment and cinemas at Majid Al Futtaim, said “entertainment is fast becoming a pillar in the kingdom‘s economy”.

Majid Al Futtaim is the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure company across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It owns and operates 29 shopping malls, 13 hotels and four mixed-use communities in the UAE.

It also operates more than 600 Vox Cinemas screens, as well as leisure and entertainment experiences such as Ski Dubai, Ski Egypt, Magic Planet and iFly Dubai.
