RX France, the organiser of MAPIC, has announced that eight new categories will be introduced to this year’s MAPIC Awards 2022, with submissions now open. The deadline for entries has also been extended to 15th July.
Since it was first held in 1996, the MAPIC Awards have honoured excellence, innovation, and creativity in the retail real estate sector. The annual programme is designed to recognise exceptional rising retail and leisure new concepts and the best performing real estate assets and projects, as well as innovative and sustainable initiatives.

Amongst the new additions this year are Best Sustainable Retail Initiative, presenting innovative and sustainable projects in both retail and real estate; Best Omnichannel Strategy, for fusing physical and digital assets to increase brand revenues; and Best Store Design by French Designers, in a new partnership with Institut Français du Design (the French Institute of Design).
