Former Universal Studios director to lead creative services for attractions specialist

Holovis, a leading experience designer, has announced a new addition to its senior global executive team, with George Walker joining as Vice President of Creative Development.

The long-standing industry executive has collaborated with Holovis previously on a number of projects, crediting the team for “bringing all things magic” to his work around the world.

Walker will lead and expand the company’s creative services offering from the Holovis Inc. Innovation Centre in Orlando, US, working with its existing crew of visionary designers and architects to create some of the world’s most compelling rides and experiences.

Walker is no stranger to the themed entertainment sector, being one of the creative forces behind Ferrari World‘s expansion in Dubai, including some of its most popular attractions such as Flying Aces, an Intamin roller coaster experience.

Walker brings with him decades of creative development experience, starting with themed adventure golf courses and FECs in the nineties, to more recent roles as Universal Studios creative director and a creative executive for Dynamic Attractions.

The new appointment says “I am so excited to be teaming up with such a cutting-edge company that has always managed to innovate and problem-solve.

“I have been constantly impressed with their ability to get things done and push the limits, whilst always championing the guest experience and the clients’ masterplan – all in a way that is truly rare in our industry.

“I see this as the perfect opportunity to build on that momentum together and take Holovis to a whole new level.”

“The new roaring twenties”

Company CEO Stuart Hetherington shares his excitement; “We cannot wait to apply George’s creative mind and visionary ideas into current and future projects. We are known for merging the best of technology with immersive storytelling, which is exactly what George excels at.

“George will be engaging with Holovis clients the world over as the company charges ahead in what George likes to refer to as ‘the new roaring twenties’.”

Earlier this year, Holovis announced a joint partnership with Shanghai Luoman Lighting Technologies Inc., to offer its services in the Chinese market.
