Keynote speakers and a series of special events will showcase the creative power of pro-AV

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the largest AV and systems integration show in the world, has announced a series of activities to showcase the power of AV, highlighting the creativity and technical prowess seen within the industry.

ISE 2022 takes place at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía from 10 – 13 May, and now organisers have revealed more details about what attendees can expect from the programme.

Inspiring keynotes

This year, the keynote speakers have been selected to show creativity using technology. Alongside this, the programme will explore three unique projects that show how AV can deliver truly unforgettable immersive experiences.

The opening keynote, on 10 May, will be delivered by Refik Anadol, speaking about his ‘In the Mind of Gaudi’ immersive installation. Inspired by Casa Batlló (pictured, top), this showcases Antoni Gaudí’s work in the Gaudí Cube, the world’s first six-LED-wall room. This experience showcases the creative capacities of digital images, big data, and AI, presenting digital art in a completely new way.

Following this, Alan Greenberg, CEO and co-founder of Illuminarium, will deliver the day two keynote on 11 May, talking about ‘Next Generation Immersive Entertainment.’ Illuminarium opened its first venue in Atlanta last year and has since expanded to a second site in Las Vegas, with plans to open at more locations around the globe. Illuminarium presents a sensory experience through transformative, state-of-the-art technologies.

Three events highlight the power of pro-AV

From Monday 9 May to Wednesday 11 May, I RISE will light up the Plaça d’Espanya at 9 pm. This projection-mapping event by Barcelona-based Flaix Studio loops for two hours and explores the themes of hope, regeneration and renewal as the pro-AV industry looks to return to more normal ways of working. This will take place on one of the iconic curved buildings on the Plaça d’Espanya by the Fira Montjuïc – sister venue to ISE’s new home, the Fira Gran Vía.

Plaça d’Espanya ISE

On 7 May, Refik Anadol, OFFF Barcelona and ISE 2022 will host a special event on the façade of Casa Batlló. OFFF Barcelona is a festival of creativity, art and digital design and the event will mark a bridge between these two milestones in the digital arts and AV industry.

From 10 – 13 May, attendees will also be able to discover the ISE Immersive Art Experience, in Hall 2 at the exhibition venue. ISE has worked with the award-winning company Exhibition Hub to curate a VR experience art installation that combines several of its award-winning immersive art experiences. This will bring to life work from artists such as Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Frida Kahlo and Gustav Klimt.

The spectacular 360° light and music show has been created with the support of AED Display, AV Stumpfl, AV-Drop / Showtex, Barco, Fluge, LANG and more.

“ISE embodies creativity, innovation, and technology and I am really excited that we have put together a series of stunning experiences for this, our first big event at our new home in Barcelona,” says Mike Blackman, Integrated Systems Events managing director.

“These initiatives perfectly illustrate the impact and power that the professional AV industry has to create truly memorable experiences and kickstart connections to deliver business benefit. I have seen the plans and the previews, but I cannot wait to see them all in action during the show.”

Tickets and further information are available on the ISE website.

ISE has also announced a new Live Events Summit which will examine the latest industry trends set to impact what artists and audiences experience in the realms of AV and systems integration.
