Kraftwerk Living Technologies Venue Project of the Year

Firm was honoured for its work on the House of Digitalization in Austria

Kraftwerk Living Technologies (KLT), a leading-edge AV systems integrator, is celebrating its success at the 2023 AV Awards in London, where it was awarded Venue Project of the Year for the House of Digitalization in Austria.

Kraftwerk Living Technologies is a world-renowned authority on specialized audiovisual solutions. The firm has three international branch offices, with its headquarters in Wels, Austria. Its award-winning project is an event and exhibition venue with media technology facilities, which combines a groundbreaking concept with an elegant finish.

The House of Digitalization

The House of Digitalization at the Biotech Campus in Tulln, Austria, opened in December 2022.  With a total size of 4,200 square metres, it is an architectural and media technology landmark.

The site is operated by Digital GmbH, and offers a broad range of digitalisation activities to serve small and medium-sized businesses in Lower Austria. In addition, each year a new multimedia exhibition will be presented in the space to engage a wide range of audiences.

To accompany the exhibition concept Human+Machine by Tamschick Media+Space, KLT led on technology for the showroom and event area, where the firm installed cutting-edge AV systems. It also equipped the foyer, entrance area, and media façade with digital features.

Interactive exhibition components, creative interpretations of real-time data, a backdrop of light and sound, and media technology-supported architecture complete the theme of digitalisation and elevate a visit into an experience.

The House of Digitalization features:

  • A 69 x 4.5 metre 360° LED wall that almost completely fills the wall of the Event & Showroom, and can be used as a presentation space for events and an exhibition element.
  • An LED ceiling solution in the foyer, with a total surface area of 10 by 11 metres.
  • An external media technology façade featuring seven LED display strips ranging in length from 5 to 17 metres.
  • Enhanced efficiency for events, with exhibition and all media technology-equipped exhibits which can be completely deconstructed and reconstructed in under two hours.

Industry accolades

Every year, the renowned AV Magazine’s AV Awards honour outstanding projects, products, and individuals in the industry. On 3 November 2023, the popular awards were presented for the 25th time at Evolution London. This celebration reflected a remarkable and exciting industry, as well as marking 25 years of recognition, and honouring winners across 28 categories.

Christian Hofer, managing partner and CTO at KLT, comments: “Winning the AV Award this year was a highlight for us – especially with a project that adds such an innovation to the market in our home country of Austria. We are incredibly proud and would like to share this recognition with all the teams and project partners involved! Thanks also to our colleague Kevin Murphy, senior VP Sales & Business Development, who had the honor of accepting the award on behalf of all of us.”

Claus Zeppelzauer and Lukas Reutterer, digital managing directors at ecoplus, add: “The awarding of the international AV Award is further confirmation of the ‘House of Digitalization’ concept. We congratulate our technology partner KLT on the outstanding implementation. Since the opening, more than 50 events in the field of digitalization have taken place. The inaugural exhibition Human+Machine can be visited free of charge until December 2nd, 2023. Bookings can be made at www.virtuelleshaus.at.”

The award follows a string of industry accolades for the firm. Last year, Kraftwerk Living Technologies was honoured with three industry awards including the blooloop Innovation Awards, the Inavation Awards, and the AV Awards.
