Powersoft Las Vegas Infocomm 2022

A multi-sensory booth will enable attendees to hear and feel the latest attraction tech

Powersoft, the Italian amplifier specialist, has announced plans to exhibit at InfoComm 2022, showcasing the haptic strength of Mover and the functionalities of the company’s Dynamic Music Distribution offering.

The three walls of booth #W2961 will display the capabilities of Powersoft’s Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD) exhibiting how venues dynamically route music and other signal sources between various zones and across numerous amplifiers, independently of source location and without a centralized DSP.

Looking to demystify

Powersoft’s other products including Mezzo, WM Touch and an SYS Control App will also be featured on the walls, besides a series of inlaid low power speaker drivers. With audio streaming from the booth’s speakers, attendees are invited to interact with the ecosystem and learn how it operates.

Powersoft US general manager Tom Knesel says: “We are looking to demystify something that is perceived as complex but is really accessible for everybody to use and understand.

“We will be walking visitors through the DMD ecosystem which enables the creation of highly customised and easy to use audio experiences – ideal for bars, hotels, fitness centres and other hospitality venues where sound is part of the overall customer experience.”

Feeling the tech

Also headlining the booth is Powersoft’s haptic feedback technology system, Mover. The direct-drive/tactile transducer is designed to create immersive experiences such as experiential installs, 4D cinemas and gaming chairs, and can be installed within walls and underneath floors.

Blackbox Audio recently were assigned with fabricating a responsive physical platform for the Mover drivers, as well as the creation of immersive audio and video content that showcases the system’s capabilities. Powersoft has collaborated with Blackbox Audio, which specifically curated spatial audio content for the display.

One of the firm’s partners, James Dellas explains: “Working with a combination of licensed media, client-supplied clips, and original content, we created Dolby Atmos Surround mixes, and a custom stereo pair of SFX tracks to drive the Movers. Some segments, such as the NASA footage, received a full custom score, specifically for this demo.”

Powersoft will be at Las Vegas Convention Center for InfoComm 2022 between 8-10 June. More information and registration details can be found on the official event website.

The company recently exhibited its haptic and sonic solutions at ISE 2022, a European industry trade show which took place at Fira de Barcelona.
