Powersoft to debut new products at Prolight + Sound 2019

Powersoft, the amplifier specialist, has announced that it will be showcasing a range of new products at the Prolight + Sound 2019 exhibition in Frankfurt. The company will be highlighting a full suite of industry audio solutions at the show, with brand new devices alongside trusted favourites.

One key product being shown at Prolight +Sound is Powersoft’s new amplifier, the X4L. This has been designed to drive high SPL woofers, which need high voltage to perform at their peak. This new amplifier can deliver up to 300 volts to the loudspeakers, for a more audible impact. The X4L is also created to efficiently save around 2 – 4 dB of power by recycling energy sent to the loudspeakers.

“In our research activity and during interactions with producers of loudspeaker components, it has become clear to us that this is the next logical step for the powering of these solutions,” said Klas Dalbjörn, Powersoft product manager.   The XL4 is also versatile, with five output connectors that allow for flexible configurations. The amplifier can deliver the same or more power per loudspeaker while driving more cabinets in parallel, compared to other products.

OEM solutions

Powersoft will also be demonstrating LOTO, a 1-2 in / 4 out advanced processing board, created to provide advanced DSP functions to any powered product. Clients can choose from a basic or an advanced model, both of which have the same features of the high-end X-series platform.

“With the introduction of DSP LOTO platform,” says Powersoft’s Giacomo Previ, Global Sales Manager – OEM solutions “Powersoft is now able to offer to OEM manufacturers the same advanced processing capabilities of its top-of-the-range rack amplifier series. This will enable to create a very powerful and flexible Powersoft ecosystem, easily controlled via ArmoníaPlus suite”.

Snapshot Selector

Powersoft will also be launching an update to the successful Snapshot Selector app. The app, which was released at the end of 2017, is free to use and available on Android and iOS. It lets users of Powersoft’s T Series, X Series and Ottocanali DSP+D Series to instantly recall a saved programme of settings easily, just by connecting their phone.

The company will also be presenting the T Series, a cost-effective solution for small systems. The T Series consists of both 2- and 4-channel models available in 3,000 W and 6,000 W versions supporting channel powers from 750 W to 3,000 W in a single rack unit. All models can deliver the same high peak voltage and can drive single 8/16 ohm cabinets at full SPL.

Powersoft growing around the world

Powersoft has been increasing its growth and investment in the North American market. The company recently announced that it has added to its team of sales reps, as well as increasing its service centre network in the US and Canada. Two new service centres, in Rockaway, New Jersey and Montreal Canada, have been added to the company’s pre-existing service centre already located in Ventura, California.

Powersoft products have also recently been used to provide a high-quality sound system in Bucharest’s Hard Rock Café as part of the restaurant’s upgrade. The project included Powersoft’s latest fixed install Quattrocanali and Ottocanali amplifier platforms.

The company launched an innovative compact transducer at the start of 2019. The product is called Mover and can be used to add to the visitor experience in venues with vibrating acoustic floors, allowing them to feel sounds. It will be useful in a range of venues from 4D cinemas to theme parks.
