Red Raion, the CGI studio specialized in media-based attractions, will be working on the creation of a new time travel-inspired experience to be operated by Carnival Cruises.
The firm is working with Leisure Expert Group, a designer in the attraction, festival and event spaces, to design the latest attraction for the AIDA cruise ship.
2125 – An Adventurous Journey Through Time And Space is designed to take ship guests on an immersive journey across different time periods and locations while they are sitting comfortably for dinner. The experience is made possible by a creative blend of CGI content and live performances by real actors.
“We are particularly proud of the outcome of this collaboration”, says Red Raion business development director Valeria Rizzo. “Our work for 2125 – An Adventurous Journey Through Time And Space focused on the creation of CGI content to create a ‘time travel experience’ that could come to life during dinner on the ship.
“The entire stage representation was designed by Leisure Expert Group, with actors engaged in a live performance, with which we had to synchronise to create the whole experience, following a specific timing that could not be changed.
“Synchronization, technical on-site trials and installation – these were all fundamental steps in the process to create this experience as we imagined it, and everyone involved put a massive effort into this experience, especially considering that we all worked during the worst times of the pandemic. We could not be happier about the final result.”
A reliable partner
Since it was founded in 2015, Red Raion has created a growing library of licensed CGI titles, establishing a track record in professional custom content. Red Raion titles can now be found in amusement parks, theme parks, FECs and other attractions worldwide.
Leisure Expert Group CEO Marjolein van de Stolpe, adds: “We have been collaborating with Red Raion concerning the custom-made video content for this large and complex project. We have experienced Red Raion to be a pleasant and reliable partner in our team.
“Listening well to feedback, displaying a great amount of flexibility, respecting deadlines, and good and open communication about any issues that arise make us feel very comfortable working with them. It has been a very ambitious project and we’re very satisfied with how this attraction turned out.”
Red Raion will share a preview of its work on the attraction at this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe until 15 September at ExCeL London. Appointment slots can be scheduled online.
