Allows guests to pre-book tourist sites entry tickets on-the-move

Tiqets, a leading booking partner for museums and attractions, has revealed that iOS users can now find it easier than before to book tickets on mobile and tablet devices. The new features allow prospective visitors to choose between 3,000 different venues, bookable direct from one app.

When using the Apple Maps feature, users can now book entry to museums and attractions with a few taps of the screen.

When users select a museum or attraction, a new option to purchase tickets will appear adjacent to the transportation options. They can then choose a time they wish to visit as well as the ticket quantity they would like to buy, and complete their streamlined booking.

Enhancing the visitor experience

Utilising the new integration, attractions can now improve the museum visitor experience before visitors arrive at the destination, whilst also decreasing traffic in admission areas, particularly of benefit with COVID-conscious audiences.

Laurens Leurink, Tiqets CEO says “Making culture more accessible is our core mission, so it is exciting to be a part of this project. The new instant-booking feature on Apple Maps will allow customers to be more spontaneous when it comes to planning their next cultural experience.

Tiqets is the latest innovator to enable the feature, with hotel specialists booking.com also offering the streamlined experience. The “two-tap” booking function is part of a rollout by tech company Apple, allowing users to promptly access services provided by compatible apps using the App Clips feature.

Leurink adds “Improvements like this in user experience are game-changers in the industry; we are making it simpler and faster for users to get exactly what they want, when they want it.”

Earlier this month, Tiqets celebrated the winners of the Tiqets Remarkable Venue Awards, featuring popular visitor destinations such as The Netherlands’ Van Gogh Museum and the USA’s National Museum of African American Music.
