Tiqets, a leading booking partner for museums and attractions, has revealed the winners of its prestigious accolades that celebrate popular visitor hotspots.

The company announced its winners for the 5th annual Remarkable Venue Awards (RVAs), celebrating the best attractions and museums the world has to offer. Results are decided by the public, based on visitor reviews.

This year’s RVA winners include classic venues such as France’s Musée de l’Orangerie, Milan Cathedral, Van Gogh Museum in The Netherlands, and Spain’s Casa Batlló. More contemporary attractions including The Scotch Whisky Experience (UK), and the National Museum of African American Music (US) were also honoured.

Over 120 venues were nominated for this year’s RVAs, with winners named at the Remarkable Venue Awards Ceremony on 10 November during the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) in Seville, Spain.

Seven award categories across six different markets were announced, celebrating destinations that received the best reviews from customers on Tiqets.com in 2021. The Tiqets’ annual awards series also aim to highlight “hidden gems” and recognise innovative venues, as chosen by a special panel of over twenty tourism experts.

Winning attractions are a credit to the industry

Laurens Leurink, Tiqets CEO says “This year’s Remarkable Venue Awards celebrated the venues that didn’t just survive 2021 – they thrived. The winning, and nominated, museums and attractions have received rave reviews from thousands of Tiqets customers in 2021, with ratings that represent the best in the industry. They are a true credit to the travel and tourism industry.

The ceremony included a keynote address from Aziz Abu Sarah, travel author, innovator and TED fellow. His speech, “Reimagining Travel: The Power of Tourism to Create a More Peaceful World”, showcased the important role that tourism plays in bringing diverse cultures together.

Commenting on the subject, Sarah says: “Travel is the best act of diplomacy in the world. As Ibn Battuta said, ‘Travel makes you speechless and then turns you into a storyteller.’ Everyone can harness the power of travel to transform our world into a more peaceful place.”

A full list of Remarkable Venue Award 2021 nominees and winners, as well as a replay of the live-streamed event, can be found on the Tiqets website.
