UK based Visitor attraction consultant Petersham Group, which works with leisure attractions acoss the world, including museums, aquariums and visitor centres, announced today that Harri Jääskeläinen BSc (Hons) has joined the company as a Senior Consultant, specifically to focus on and help build its presence in Scandinavia and the Baltic States.
Harri worked with Petersham group throughout 2011 on a major new visitor attraction development project in Malaysia, where he served as Operations Executive.
Returning to his native Finland, Harri is now Helsinki based and is expecting to be working wherever he is needed, not just in Scandinavia and the Baltic States.
Petersham Group’s international workload grew significantly during 2011 with projects being undertaken in Malaysia, Estonia, Mauritius, Kenya, Madeira, Portugal and Sweden, as well as in the UK. So the prospects of Harri seeing a lot of Helsinki in 2012 are remote, to say the least!
After schooling and higher education in Finland Harri moved to the UK in 2002 and worked in a variety of roles, including as Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive of The Property Database Limited. He also worked in the hotel sector and inspired by those experiences decided in 2006 to seek a relevant degree in the hotel or wider hospitality industry. He subsequently went to the University of Surrey School of Management, graduating in 2010 with an Upper 2:1 in International Hospitality Management. That course involved him in an exchange programme at Nanyang Technical University in Singapore during the Spring semester of 2008. While there he studied marketing, communications, Mandarin Chinese and finance.
