3dx Scenic, a leader in custom scenic design and fabrication, has revealed that it has collaborated with Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, in Indiana, US. The firm has designed and fabricated five enormous sculptures for the Thanksgiving area of the park, which represent the American celebration.
Good Gravy! family coaster
The huge sculptures are on show around the Good Gravy! family coaster, the first Family Boomerang Coaster in America from Vekoma. A stuffing box, milk bottle, whisk, rolling pin, and kitchen timer have been arranged along the track so that riders and spectators alike can interact with them.
Non-riders can take advantage of a brand-new play area and photo opportunities with the sculptures.
Rachael Claxton, 3dx charge scenic artist, says: “The team at Holiday World was a joy to work with through every step of this super cool project.”
Mark Rosenzweig, 3dx chief business officer, adds: “This project embodies the creative spirit that the 3dx team brings to every project. Combining nostalgia with incredible scale, we can’t wait to see Holiday World’s guests interact with these pieces of art for many decades to come.”
This addition to 3dx Scenic’s portfolio of bespoke fabrication projects showcases how the firm transforms its clients’ ideas into reality.
3dx Scenic recently announced that Mark Rosenzweig and Matt Waldenmeyer took ownership of the firm on 1 December 2023. The firm will concentrate its activities primarily on themed entertainment under its new ownership.
With careers spanning more than two decades each, Rosenzweig and Waldenmeyer both have a wealth of industry experience. Rosenzweig has formerly worked at Zamperla and Ride Entertainment and brings experience in attraction development and sales. Waldenmeyer built the shop at 3dx Scenic – he first joined the studio as a carpenter and advanced to become director of operations.
Last year, the company collaborated with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment on the Big Bird’s Beach-themed area at Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, US.
