The company’s talented cast has performed at hundreds of venues around the world

Cirque Éloize, the performing arts and entertainment specialist, is captivating summer crowds at one of France’s most popular theme park destinations with its latest showpiece. This summer Futuroscope will be home to three performances of Plage au Cirque each dayan original production designed and produced specifically for the venue.

Coinciding with the school break, the exclusive show recreates the atmosphere of a summer seaside resort where memorable characters unite with spectacular theatrical and acrobatic routines.

The firm says: “Guests will experience the twists and turns of life, with poignant passages and familiar emotions illustrated through friendship, adversity, loyalty, love, stupidity, and acceptance. All audiences, regardless of age, will connect with the story designed to create the shared emotions that bring us together.”

Thirteen performers are brought together by a skilled DJ who gets the characters to dance and create a playful, humourous story for the family.

In addition to dramatic and clown sequences, Cirque Éloize presents world-class acts on wire, Cyr wheel, aerial hoop, trial bike, chair acrobatics and trampwall, showcased on a specialist stage.

President and chief creative officer of Cirque Éloize, Jeannot Painchaud, says: “We are extremely proud of this first collaboration with Futuroscope. It has allowed us to push the limits of our creativity by designing an entertainment experience that is funny, poetic, and meaningful.”

The entertainment benefits from an impressive backdrop, including a 300 square metre stage and a visual backdrop almost the same size. An aerial anchor point has been custom-designed for the presentation, supporting aerobatic acts six metres above the floor.

Combining its three decades of technical and artistic expertise, Cirque Éloize has been meeting the demanding schedule of three 20-minute shows a day since its July park debut. The full run will include 44 days, culminating in over 130 performances.

International performances

Part of Quebec’s cultural scene since 1993, Cirque Éloize is a recognised name in contemporary circus arts, with notable creations including RainiDCirkopolisHOTELSerge Fiori and its most recent show Celeste. Its performances have been enjoyed by over 5 million spectators in 57 countries and approximately 600 cities across the globe.

“This new show features the expertise developed by Cirque Éloize over the years, including high-level acts and an original and unpredictable story of celebration and unity,” adds Painchaud.

Plage au Cirque takes place at Futuroscope until 28 August 2022. Further information can be found on the attraction’s website.

Other new additions to Futuroscope this season include Chasseurs de Tornades, a Dynamic Motion Theater by Dynamic Attractions. The operator’s second theme park is set to open in 2025.
