Mobaro's David Bromilow named Chairman of IAAPA EMEA Safety Committee

David Bromilow (above left) of Danish tech company, Mobaro, has been named as the new Chairman of the IAAPA EMEA safety sub-committee.

Bromilow has spent 40 years in the attractions industry striving to drive up safety and engineering standards.

He joined Mobaro two years ago as Director, Parks and Attractions. The company is a leader in the development of digital safety solutions for theme park operators. Its specialist product, Mobaro Park, is increasingly being used by those parks eager to digitize their safety and maintenance schedule.

“Working with the Mobaro team provides me with the opportunity to work with parks and attractions around the world and provide guidance on matters of safety, maintenance and operations,” says Bromilow. “The Mobaro team has, from day one, provided full support and encouragement to me in support of my volunteer work on the safety sub-committee.”

David Bromilow – ‘there is still much to be done’

Bromilow began his career as a full-time apprentice engineer at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1977. He was following in the footsteps of his father, Peter, who was also a mechanical engineer at the park.

“I can remember the first day as an apprentice as if it were yesterday, as I was assigned to work with my Dad to install the Steeplechase ride with a team from Arrow rides USA,” says Bromilow.

Since then, he has worked in diverse roles, including as an independent amusement industry consultant worldwide. From 2010-2015, he was the General Manager Park Operations at Drayton Manor Park.

Aside from his committee work, he also works on the various safety standards and educational programmes within the industry delivered by IAAPA. He continues to be an industry ambassador for safety.

“However there is still much to be done. I am ready, determined and still as passionate to help in the many years to come,” says Bromilow.

His new role also gives him a seat on the global IAAPA safety committee.
