The colourful experience takes place over several continents and environments

Jora Vision, a leading design and production company, has designed the first dark ride for a Vietnamese park.

The creative firm, which has over three decades of experience in the development and delivery of immersive experiences, has been celebrating the opening of Tata World River Adventure at VinWonders in Nha Thrang.

The new 315-metre-long boat ride by Interlink covers 4543 square metres and holds 11 unique scenes and two drops.

“It’s very brave for a park to enter the world of dark rides with such a large and richly themed ride,” says Jora Vision creative lead Victor Schade. As a visitor, you will experience fully immersive decors with integrated projection screens, uniquely designed animatronics, special and visual effects and a custom music score.”

The journey begins at the Fairytale Library, where every fairytale from around the world is treasured, protected, and gathered. Guests zigzag across parts of Europe, South America, and Asia before arriving at the Tata Treasury, which acts as the Pre-Show. The Fairytale Librarian, an animatronic, recounts the tale of Princess Tata and the Pearl of Happiness.

You will journey through Van Hoa’s magical world map as the show’s conclusion to discover for yourself how the plot develops.

Discovering the Story

Van Hoa is the remarkable area designed for the attraction, located in one of the world’s most stunning coastline bays. It is home to Princess Tata, a woman renowned for her brilliant beauty, and is a haven for fragrant flowers, exotic plants, adorable creatures, and talented songbirds. The Pearl of Happiness, the keeper of the tranquilly of Van Hoa, was one day taken by the Dark Princess, so guests are tasked with finding the Pearl of Happiness with Princess Tata and her close pals Monta Monkey and Tuka Parrot. The story was derived from the plot of an existing show at VinWonders Nha Thrang.

Guests board one of seven boats in Princess Tata’s Palace after the Pre-Show and float into the Land of Flowers, home to the Pearl of Happiness which is snatched away by the Dark Princess. Then, after traversing the lands of jungle and ocean, full of various creatures, guests form a fellowship. During a scene, two of Princess Tata’s sister princesses will fight in the Land of Darkness during an epic battle scene. Guests will then find out if the Pearl of Happiness has been found at the top of the second lift hill.

Distorting reality

The ride makes use of a variety of specially created special effects. A mechanical and pepper’s ghost effect is combined in one of the scenarios to allow the Pearl of Happiness to vanish in plain sight.

In addition, Jora Vision helped create the appearance that guests are in a bigger world than what the structure could provide in numerous other scenarios. Scenes can be made to stretch beyond their boundaries by using techniques like depth projection and forced perspective. Jora Vision also says that Tata World River Adventure is home to one of the biggest animatronics ever created.
