Katapult, the international guest experience design agency, has appointed two new staff members to its Project Production and People & Environment teams.
Katapult is pleased to welcome Adam Booth to the role of Project Producer – Themed Entertainment, and Melisa Martinez to the People & Environment seat. Both new team members bring with them extensive experience.
New starters
Booth joins the team from leading ride manufacturers Simworx, and has a 14-year career in the industry behind him, beginning as an architectural technician. He has a great deal of knowledge in the field of themed entertainment and previously worked for Merlin Entertainment. Here, worked on several well-known attractions, such as CBeebies Land and Smiler at Alton Towers, Shrek’s Adventure London at County Hall Attractions Cluster and Derren Brown’s Ghost Train at Thorpe Park Resort.
In his time with Simworx, Booth worked on projects delivering VR and interactivity, as well as helping to develop the RoboCoaster product portfolio. This includes the AGV (Automated Guide Vehicle dark ride) & RCX RoboCoaster robotic ride products.
Martinez brings extensive experience with her from previous roles as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager for international businesses. She is passionate about the amusement park industry, and her ability to speak five languages will be a huge asset to Katapult as it progresses with international projects.
In her new position, Melisa will be responsible for the guest experience at Katapult HQ, team wellbeing and supporting the busy team to as they deliver projects around the world.
Welcome additions
Dawn Foote, Katapult’s CEO and Co-Founder, is pleased to welcome both new members of staff, “As we continue to develop our profile globally it is important for us to add specialist industry experience. Adam arrives having managed just the sort of projects we are working on.
“Melisa will be a welcome addition to the team with her highly organised style, and has already begun settling in by declaring her love for Germany’s Phantasialand!”
Recently, Katault partnered with the Museum of East Anglian Life to assist in its transformation into The National Food Museum.
