As London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) puts back its public consultation, the company says the Kent theme park will still open in 2023.
LRCH says it is putting back the unveiling of their updated proposals, originally planned for early 2018. The public consultation will now take place in the second quarter of the year.
In an update to shareholders, LRCH say:
“As we continue to design, refine and develop the London Resort, it requires incredible commitment and careful consideration at a detailed level from ourselves, our local authority colleagues and statutory consultees and eventually the community.
“We have therefore revised our programme and will no longer be consulting in Q1 of 2018. All major projects are years in the making and the London Resort is no different.”
Entirely new concept design for the London Resort
It’s been a busy year for LRCH. They have brought in new senior management, undertaken a detailed economic feasibility study led by Leisure Development Partners, and have engaged with new potential IP partners. They also recently revealed their new logo.
LHRC go on to say:
“Working with our designers, Rethink we have created an entirely new concept design for the London Resort.
“We now have a robust, integrated financial model that in turn is increasing both awareness and attractiveness of the project.
“The team have been meeting ride manufacturers in Berlin and industry leaders at the IAAPA Conference in Orlando,” says Martin. “Prior to that, we have been investing literally hundreds of hours in concept design and contractual negotiations and deliberations with our partners. A number of those contracts are ready for signing and announcement.”
As awareness around the project has grown, LRHC say that owners of world class brands and stories have been keen to discuss possibilities.
“We are continuing to meet and talk to companies with long legacies and exciting dynamic futures.
The ÂŁ3.2 billion tourist attraction in Kent is expected to create more than 27,000 jobs.
As Blooloop reported, Paramount Pictures parted ways with the project earlier this year.
However, despite the challenges and complexity of the project, LRCH expects the Kent theme park to open as planned in 2023.
