Tokyo DisneySea‘s eighth port features areas based on Disney movies Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan.

Tokyo Disney Resort has released a new drone video that reveals construction progress at the site of the Fantasy Springs expansion, opening at Tokyo DisneySea in 2023.

Fantasy Springs is the eighth port at the Tokyo DisneySea theme park. It features three themed areas and attractions based on Disney movies Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan.

Covering an area of 140,000 square metres, Fantasy Springs will also include a new luxury hotel. The development has received an investment of $2.2 billion from Oriental Land Co (OLC).

Each themed land will house attractions, restaurants and immersive spaces. These include Rapunzel’s Tower (Tangled), Neverland (Peter Pan) and Arendelle Castle (Frozen).

The footage, which you can watch above, shows the project’s beginnings as a parking lot in June 2019. It unveils building work at the site during 2020, taking viewers through to August 2021.

OLC is also opening the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel on April 5, 2022. Operated by Milial Resort Hotels Co Ltd, the hotel and will immerse guests in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story films.

Upon arrival, guests will encounter giant Buzz Lightyear and Jessie toys at Slinky Dog Park, as well as oversized Woody and Bo Peep action figures at Toy Friends Square.

Toy Story Hotel will be the first ‘moderate-type’ accommodation available at Tokyo Disney Resort. It has a total of 595 rooms, including 575 standard rooms and 20 superior rooms.

Tokyo Disney Resort, home to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, shared a series of videos in April this year of the Fantasy Springs concept model. Fantasy Springs is due to open at Tokyo DisneySea in 2023.
