When Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon opens at Universal Orlando on three months it will be the first ride at the resort with a virtual queue.
Guests will be able to reserve a time in the Virtual Line at kiosks outside the ride or via the Official Universal Orlando Resort App.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Universal Studios Florida has recently been testing a new queue reservation system on Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
This is probably just the start of virtual queues at Universal Orlando.  Volcano Bay water park guests will be equipped with waterproof TapuTapu bracelets complete with queue management technology.
Whether the Virtual Line will stay free of charge or is available outside the park, remains to be seen.  The resort already charges for its Universal Express plan.
Meanwhile Disneyland announced last week that it will charge $10 a day for its new MaxPass digital FastPass service.
