Vekoma Rides welcomed Nicola Masin to the team on 1 February 2021

Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, has announced that Nicola Masin stepped into the position of Global Sales and Business Development Manager on 1 February 2021. In this role, he will help the company to expand its services, by providing professional sales support as Vekoma continues to create innovative designs and exciting rides and attractions.

Masin will be responsible for part of the EMEA and CIS regions, where the company already has a considerable base.

A skilled professional

Masin has more than 20 years of industry experience and having been involved in design and product development as well as in planning for parks and attractions, he brings substantial knowledge to the role.

His background is in sales, marketing and management. Peter van Bilsen, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, says that Masin’s experience in the development and implementation of strategic business development and product development makes him a valuable addition to the Vekoma team.

As Global Sales and Business Development Manager, Masin will work closely with Vekoma’s sales and product development teams, based at the company’s corporate offices.

Vekoma also recently announced that F.L.Y. at Phantasialand has won a European Star Award in the category of Europe’s Best New Coasters. The new attraction is the longest flying coaster in the world and can be found within Phantasialand’s new steampunk-themed land, Rookburgh. Riders enjoy a unique experience with rotating seats, dark ride sections and two launches.

Vekoma and Phantasialand have been working on the project since 2014, with prototype testing taking place in 2017 and completion of the track production in 2018. Thanks to the close cooperation between the teams, the eagerly-awaited attraction was able to open its doors in September 2020.

Last summer, the company also completed a project at Erlebnispark Tripsdrill in Germany which is now home to two unique new roller coasters.
