Wonderland Fun Park Moves To Melbourne Star Observation Wheel

Wonderland Fun Park will make the move to Melbourne’s Docklands as part of a new expansion project around the Melbourne Star Wheel in Early 2016.

The new entertainment district will include festival stages, children’s attractions and amusements area, Spiegeltent, additional event space Spiegeltent garden, retail store and function areas to utilize the currently unused space.

The existing park adjacent to the O’Brien Group Arena will close on 26th January, and the park will reopen in its new home on 25th March as a tenancy of the Japanese-owned Sanoyas Ride Australia, who own the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel.

Melbourne Star Observation Wheel Logo Garren Cox, Sanoyas Rides Australia General Manager said “Wonderland’s move over to the Melbourne Star Piazza strengthens an already rewarding relationship for both parties and builds upon the growth and development taking place in the Docklands precinct, ” said Mr Cox.

“Our partnership with a fellow visitor attraction is a great synergy and supports driving new and repeat guests to Docklands” said Wonderland Co-owner and Operator Colin Davis. “The Melbourne Star Observation Wheel is a fantastic focal point for our guest entertainment experience.

Port Douglas Carnivale Melbourne Docklands Partner and Wonderland Co-owner/Operator Melissa Head agrees, “We can now offer a complete package of both adult and family entertainment in a larger dedicated and branded location.  In addition to themed seasonal events and corporate functions, we will utilize the Spiegeltent and festival stages for increased arts & entertainment programming including music, comedy, cabaret and family shows all year round, ” says Melissa.

After 6 years at Docklands, Wonderland Fun Park will be rebranded as Wonderland Entertainment & Leisure Pty Ltd and trade as Wonderland under the Melbourne Star. The company also recently won a competitive bid as event producers for the Port Douglas Carnivale in May 2016 and will be actively expanding its off-site Wonderland Pop up Festival  ventures in Australia.
