ADG Scoops Leading Edge Award for Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark

News

Leading expert in recreational environments, Aquatic Development Group, Inc., (ADG) has won a World Waterpark Association’s (WWA) Leading Edge Award for the Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark at Camelback Resort.

The new park, designed and developed by ADG, is located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, a region that attracts around 28 million visitors a year.

The all-weather complex, covered by the company’s Texlon® Transparent Roofing System creating a year round climate of 84 degrees, is ideally placed to tap into the area’s popularity as a winter ski destination.

ADG’s President, Ken Ellis and Arthur Berry III bought Camelback in 2005 with the intention of transforming the resort into a year-round offering.

“This has been an extraordinary project because of my own personal involvement and vested interest in Camelback, ” commented Ellis. “I’m extremely proud of the talented and diligent teams at ADG, ADCI, WhiteWater West, Weber Group, Vortex, our partners at Stand Rock Hospitality and the work put forth by so many others who brought our vision to life.”

Aquatopia is themed on a fictional explorer, Kartrite Van Der Berris, whose collection of finds from his travels around the globe adorns the lodge and waterpark. The attraction houses 13 waterslides including the Double FlowRider® and the country’s longest indoor water coaster by WhiteWater.

“Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is incredibly innovative because we had the full force of the industry’s best people behind it, ” said Ellis.
