The Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark, featuring the largest wave pool in Southeast Asia and the region’s first steel water coaster, is expected to open in June 2018.
Billed as one of the largest theme parks in the world, the attraction is a key component of the ambitious Desaru Coast Resort development in Johor.
The development occupies over 3,900 acres along 17km of beachfront.
It features a ‘world-class golf offering’, hotels and resorts, a conference centre and a 23-acre retail and lifestyle village. Four international hotel brands are also on board: Westin Desaru Coast Resort, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort and Villas, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, and an exclusive 6-star luxury Aman Resort and Villas.
The opening of the Els Club golf club has reportedly triggered a surge in visitor numbers. The club offers two golf courses: the 27-hole Ocean Course and the 18-hole Valley Course. The Ocean Course opened in September last year and The Valley Course opened this March.
The project expects to generate around 4,000 job opportunities and boost the region’s economy.
