Great Wolf Lodge has pushed up the opening date of its new water park resort in Webster, Texas, which will now welcome guests on 29 August.
Opening in time for Labor Day weekend, the new 532-room resort includes a 92,000-square-foot indoor water park. It also features a 61,000-square-foot family entertainment centre (FEC), Great Wolf Adventure Park.
In the next-generation Great Wolf FEC, guests will find themselves in the mystical world of Vellara via the resort’s MagiQuest game and the new Virtual Frontier virtual reality (VR) experience.

The newest version of MagiQuest is coming to this Great Wolf site. It includes updated graphics, epic boss battles and an entrancing storyline, Great Wolf said in a press release.
Highlights also include an interactive mining adventure, and the ‘Howlers Peak’ ropes course with a new indoor zip line element and harness-free adventure trail.
The new Great Wolf Lodge also includes the ‘Northern Lights’ arcade, featuring more than 100 video games, as well as ‘Ten Paw Alley’ – a family-friendly bowling experience.

Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast, the official name of the $200 million resort, is being built on a 27-acre site in Harris County.
Elsewhere, Great Wolf’s first water park in Florida is set to open in Naples in September. This location also has a next-generation FEC with new attractions.
Great Wolf Resorts owns and operates North America‘s largest family of indoor water park resorts. The company has another resort under construction in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
