Polin, one of the world leaders in the design, production, and installation of waterparks, waterslides and water play attractions, has designed and installed the water attractions for the new US$3.25 million (100 million THB) Santorini Water Fantasy waterpark.
Santorini Water Fantasy waterpark
The new waterpark has been built next to an existing amusement park and retail center at the Cha-Am Premium Outlet Mall in the southern part of the Phetchaburi Province in central Thailand, close to Bangkok. The development is owned by Supoj Tantichirasakul, chairman of Pena House Public Co. Ltd.. Pena House originally developed the mall and then added Santorini Park's rides, shops and restaurants.
Tantichirasakul says the new 4 acres waterpark is expected to support his plan to transform Cha-Am's main road into a new "Western Gold Coast, " similar to Australia's Gold Coast, and has already led to an increase in visitor numbers which previously stood at 10, 000 a day.
Tantichirasakul’s company is expanding investments in Cha-Am, including other amusement parks and waterparks:

Aquatic Attractions
Polin Waterparks designed a mix of aquatic attractions for Santorini Water Fantasy in 12 water-play areas that can accommodate up to 3, 500 guests:
- King Cobra waterslide: The jewel in the crown of the waterpark is Polin’s signature King Cobra waterslide. With red, black and white scales, the King Cobra's themed veneer finish extends along its massive 50-foot (15.24-meter) height and 260-foot (790-meter) length. Two riders race along a circular path reaching speeds of up to 32 mph (51 km/h) via water pressure of 3, 875 gallons (14, 668 liters) per minute through open and closed tubes. The ride ends after a plunge of nearly 25 feet (8 meters) down a 50-degree slope.
- Looping Rocket: This high-adrenaline ride offers one of the highest drops riders can experience. The ride features Polin's exclusive "Magic Shine" technology in translucent colours.
- Space Shuttle: This waterslide features an innovative design configuration, form and ride path. Fully open, fully enclosed and half-closed versions are available. Configuration options include exit via a pool or a run-out.
- Windigo: Riders on mats begin this attraction within enclosed slides that transform into high-speed multi-racer lanes. It offers the flexibility of including "Kamikaze" or "Freefall" options, and its high-capacity capability will keep lines moving.
Other Polin water rides include Freefall, Aquatube, Rafting Slide, Black Hole, Kids Freefall, Space Hole, Kids Octopus Slide, Mini Pirate Slide, Turtle Slide, Rabbit Slide, Mini Rainbow Slide, Giraffe Shower, Mushroom, Aquatower Type 600 water play structure, Frog Slide and a Baby Octopus Slide as well as a giant wave pool.
The waterpark also features a giant wave pool as well as a wide variety of food and drink offerings, secured lockers, air-conditioned poolside cabanas and shopping as well as a camera system that allows guests to upload images from the rides to their Facebook pages.
