Waterparks experts, Polin, and Swimplex Aquatics, have created a new waterpark for children at BIG4 Tweed Billabong Holiday Park, Australia.
The park, part of the BIG4 Caravan Park franchise, has been named one of Australia's top 10 "Best Family Holiday Parks" by HolidaysWithKids.com users who cite the "the introduction of … splash-tastic water-play areas" as a key reason for its popularity.
"Australia's Green Cauldron Water Playground" is themed on the local terrain, an extinct shield volcano. The Wollumbin-Mt. Warning area features three enclosed slides that snake down from the peak of the miniature volcano, one of which goes dark for a few seconds as it weaves through the mountainside. The distinctive rocks of Fingal Head are the inspiration for another themed area which includes a tipping bucket and slide. The marine-themed toddler-play section features a frog slide, beached whale, dolphins and turtles.
The park’s owner, Andrew Tribe, explains that this latest addition adds value for guests because it offers youngsters an experience that is both active and educational. "Kids are stuck on their personal devices or computers too much at home and school, " he comments. "Their holidays need to be an active and fun time spent reconnecting with their parents."
Camping and caravanning is big business in Australia with guests demanding high-quality accommodation and leisure facilities. With families making up 50% of the market share, waterparks are proving a popular draw.
Polin and Swimplex have already partnered on a number of waterparks projects for BIG4 Holiday parks including Capricorn Palms Holiday Village in Yeppoon and Cania Gorge Caravan and Tourist Park in Cania Gorge; both in Queensland.
