Polin Supply Waterslides and Attractions for Legends of Aqua Waterpark, Antalya

Polin Waterparks is honoured to be the waterpark supplier for the new world-class Land of Legends Theme Park in Antalya, Turkey. 

Land of Legends resort includes a five-star hotel, a dolphinarium, a wildlife park and the Legends of Aqua Waterpark.  The US$1 billion theme park, which opened its first phase on 1 July 2016, was developed by Rixos World Parks & Entertainment, Emaar Real Estate and Dragone Productions, with Jack Rouse Associates as master planners.

Polin Waterparks acted as supplier for the 280, 000 sqm waterpark, delivering not only the 72 waterslides but also a water playground, a spray zone, wave and river systems, a SurfStream®, a Wave Ball and an entire hydromechanical sytem, including water circulation and filtration. Polin’s contribution to the project included the development, design and consulting on all waterslides, rafts/tubes/mats, FEC equipment, kids’ interactive play structures and other children’s equipment.

Waterslides and Attractions

Polin’s signature waterslides supplied include Magicone, Family Rafting Slide, Windigo, Kamikaze, Freefall, Looping Rocket, Space Boat, Space Shuttles, Black Hole featuring Polin’s patented Natural Light Effects technology, a Navigatour + Rafting Slide + Black Hole Combo Waterslide, Compact Slide, Multi Slide, a Black Hole + Rafting Slide Multislide Combo Waterslide, a Navigatour Uphill + Rafting Slide + Black Hole Multislide Combo Waterslide and Lazy-Crazy River

Unique attractions for younger guests at the Kids and Toddler Zone include Kids’ Wide Slides, Kids’ Freefall, Octopus Slide, Frog Slide, Baby Octopus Slide, Dolphin Fountain, Mushroom, Mini Pirate Slide and Water Play Structure.

In addition, the resort offers a dedicated area for female guests and their children’s use with attractions including a Body Slide, Tunnel Freefall, Kamikaze, Twister Racer, Hybrid Racer (Space Boat + Turbo Lance Combination), Black Hole + Flying Boats Combination, Family Rafting Slide, Wave Ball, Water-Play Structure and Lazy River.

American Wave Machines

Polin worked with leading surf simulator firm American Wave Machines to bring the first SurfStream to the region.  The SurfStream is the world’s first standing wave-surfing machine, allowing riders to use real surfboards and surf an endless wave.

The SurfStream installed at the Land of Legends is one of the largest in the world with a double surf-system configuration that allows each side to feature up to seven different-size waves.  This means that one side of the ride can offer an advanced barrel wave while the other can feature family bodyboarding waves.  Up to six surfers and 12 bodyboarders can use the attraction at the same time.

Wave Ball

Polin has also installed the first Wave Ball in Turkey at the waterpark.  Created by the WOW Company (Belgium), the Wave Ball sits in the centre of a pool and uses powerful software and hardware to control the frequency and size of the pool’s waves. The size of this installation is a first in Turkey, making it one of the park’s top attractions since its installation. Part of the appeal is based on Polin’s design skill, in collaboration with WOW engineers, to create a pool that resembles a typical wavepool shape.

Polin Technology

All waterslides at The Land of Legends Waterpark were designed and installed by Polin’s team of engineering experts and manufactured using L-Resin Transfer Molding (L-RTM) composites technology.  Polin’s Magic Shine technology creates two perfectly shiny sides which are not only more attractive, but also are easier to install and stronger and lighter than comparable products due to their uniform thickness and smooth edges.  The RTM process allows Polin to offer the company’s patented Natural Light Effects technology and Special Pattern Effects technology, as well as translucent colour options.
