Cruise company Royal Caribbean has unveiled Perfect Day Mexico, its new private destination for passengers on the Caribbean coast of Mahahual in Mexico.
Spanning more than 200 acres, Perfect Day Mexico will open in 2027 with attractions such as Loco Waterpark, which includes 30 waterslides, including the longest coaster waterslide in the world.
Also part of Loco Waterpark is the world’s first sombrero slide, inspired by Mexico’s iconic sombrero.

At Splash Cove, Perfect Day Mexico’s central neighbourhood, guests will discover the longest lazy river in the world featuring a “crazy section” with unexpected twists and turns.
An adults-only zone will include a swim-up bar and in-pool DJ, while the Fiesta Plaza area is home to the world’s largest sombrero.
The destination will also offer nearly two miles of white sand beaches, as well as 12 dining outlets and 24 bars.
“Perfect Day Mexico is bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean.
Cruise brand expands on land and at sea
“This destination will be the ultimate vacation for families, and we cannot wait to welcome adventurers from around the world to Mexico for an experience only Royal Caribbean can provide.”
Kara Wallace, chief marketing officer at Royal Caribbean, said: “Vacationers trust us to help them make every moment a memory, which is why we are changing the game with unforgettable experiences at Perfect Day Mexico and beyond.”
When it opens in fall 2027, Perfect Day Mexico will welcome Western Caribbean itineraries sailing from Galveston, New Orleans and all Florida homeports.
Perfect Day Mexico is part of an expansion of Royal Caribbean’s land-based destinations, which include Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

The cruise brand is also opening a new island destination called Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in the Bahamas in December 2025.
This will be followed by Royal Beach Club Cozumel in Mexico in 2026, and a new beach destination in Lelepa in the South Pacific in early 2027.
“As we continue to innovate and expand our offerings at sea and on land, our ambition is to offer our guests a diverse range of experiences that grow with them, turning the vacation of a lifetime into a lifetime of vacations,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group.
