Qiddiya is a major entertainment project planned for Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. The development is headed by the Qiddiya Investment Company. The 334 square kilometre site is primed to become the country’s anchor entertainment, sports, and arts destination, in a space larger than Walt Disney World in Florida, US.
The first phase includes a water-themed park with rides, shows, attractions and sporting elements alongside a fully integrated resort hotel. The site will also be home to Speed Park, a professional motorsports venue with race circuits, showrooms, retail, a drivers’ club and a luxury hotel.
Qiddiya, along with other giga-projects such as The Red Sea Project, forms part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
In 2020, former Euro Disney S.A.S president Philippe Gas was appointed to the role of CEO.
Qiddiya is scheduled to house the only Six Flags park outside of North America. A major attraction which has captured attention is Falcon’s Flight, set to be the world’s tallest free-standing coaster.
