How WAZA, Wellington Zoo and Monterey Bay Aquarium lead sustainability efforts in zoos and aquariums by example.

greenloop is the world’s first conference looking specifically at sustainability in visitor attractions, taking place 20-21 April, 2021.

Our international line-up features speakers leading sustainability programmes at some of the world’s leading visitor attractions, from major museums to theme parks and Expos, who will outline best practice, highlight key initiatives and developments. See our agenda here.

WAZA and Wellington Zoo

Karen Fifield, Chief Executive, Wellington Zoo & Chair of the WAZA Ethics and Animal Welfare Committee, joins greenloop to present WAZA’s new sustainability strategy.

Karen has been Chief Executive of Wellington Zoo since 2006 and is a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit MNZM for Business and Animal Welfare.

She chairs the WAZA Ethics and Animal Welfare Committee. During her career Karen has won several awards for her work on sustainability. She was named Wellingtonian of the Year in the Environment category in 2010.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

David Rosenberg is Vice President of Monterey Bay Aquarium. He joins greenloop to talk about the Aquarium’s mission to inspire conservation of the ocean, leading by example and the Aquarium Conservation Partnership.

David Rosenberg, Monterey Bay Aquarium

Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and operations of Monterey Bay Aquarium, David is credited with transforming the aquarium into a world-class attraction. Its mission is to inspire the conservation of the ocean.

In 2015, he was awarded IAAPA’s Outstanding Service Award, and he went on to serve as the 2019 Chairman of the Board of Directors for IAAPA.

He is also an active member of AZA.

Standard tickets are available at ÂŁ72 (incl UK VAT) each.
