Continuum Attractions presents The Clouds Bar at Spinnaker Tower

Spinnaker Tower Clouds Bar

Guests can enjoy a fully-stocked pop-up bar at 105 metres high

Continuum Attractions, the Yorkshire-based leisure company, is celebrating the opening of The Clouds Bar at Spinnaker Tower, where guests can sip cocktails, mocktails and more while 105 metres above the ground.

The iconic tower can be found in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays and is part of the Continuum Group. At 170 metres high, the tower’s viewing decks give visitors stunning views across the Solent and the city’s historic harbour. Continuum Attractions brings engaging stories to life and has more than three decades of experience in developing commercially successful businesses.

Cocktails in the sky

The Clouds Bar is the result of a new partnership between Spinakker Tower and Mermaid Gin. Having opened for selected Fridays in August, the fully-stocked pop-up bar sold out in record time. Many tourist attractions have faced a challenging 18 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as they reopen, this venture shows that Spinnaker Tower has found an innovative way to adapt and to attract visitors once more.

“Here at the Spinnaker Tower, we found ourselves in the unusual position of having Friday nights unbooked during the peak month of August,” explains Tony Sammut, General Manager at Spinnaker Tower.

“Rather than rest on our laurels, we as a team are providing a new experience and making the spectacular night-time views available to the general public for four evenings of drinks, music and amazing scenery.”

Earlier this year, Continuum Attractions also signed a 10-year agreement with ITV to become the operator of ITV visitor attractions across the UK, including I’m a Celebrity… Jungle Challenge.

As well as I’m a Celebrity… Jungle Challenge, ITV’s portfolio also features Coronation Street The Tour, and weekend tours of the Emmerdale Village. Continuum worked with ITV to open the original Coronation Street sets in Manchester to the public in 2014, as well as the Emmerdale sets in Leeds.
