A re-imagined version of Finding Nemo – The Musical is in development.
“Finding Nemo — The Musical” has been delighting our guests since 2007,” said Shawn Slater, Senior Communications Manager for Disney Live Entertainment. “I’m excited to tell you a reimagined show, based on the same beloved characters, will debut in 2022.”
The new show is still in the early stages of development. “The musical retelling of this underwater tale of family, friendship and kindness will feature new story material,” said Slater. He confirmed that beloved songs such as “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow” will still form part of the popular entertainment.
Finding Nemo – The Musical
Finding Nemo – The Musical was first shown at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2007. The show featured characters such as clownfish Marlin and forgetful Dory made famous by the 2003 Pixar film Finding Nemo.
14 original songs were created for the show by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the award-winning song writing team behind Frozen.
Live musical performances and puppetry formed the backfin of the popular show which was shown in the Dinoland USA land of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
In May, Tokyo DisneySea launched Nemo & Friends SeaRider. The ¥5bn attraction shrinks guests to the size of a fish and sends them to explore the sea.
