Aardman Animations, home of global IPs Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, is presenting its upcoming feature film, new IP and more at the 2018 Licensing Expo which opens today in Las Vegas.
The year got off to a cracking start for the UK company with the release of its hit prehistoric comedy adventure, Early Man, from Academy Award® winner, Nick Park.
Attractions looking to add some Aardman excitement to their offering will no doubt be eager to catch up with Rob Goodchild (Head of Licensing), Sean Clarke (Head of Rights & Brand Development) and Lucy Wendover (Head of Marketing & Brand). Find them at stand K230 where they will be showcasing what’s in store for 2018 and beyond.
The Shaun the Sheep brand goes from strength to strength with Series 5 broadcasting in over 170 territories worldwide and a hotly-anticipated movie sequel in production, set to launch in 2019.
“The studio will continue to work closely with STUDIOCANAL on developing a strong licensing and promotional programme for the film, including publishing and live experiences,” says the company. Aardman is handling UK and international rights via a worldwide network of agents.
Aardman gearing up for Wallace & Gromit 30th anniversay
New for this summer is an online educational series aimed at early years English language learners – ‘Learning Time with Timmy’. Developed in collaboration with the British Council, the series will launch on a dedicated YouTube channel as well as with a number of international broadcasters.
According to Aardman, the team are also developing an international publishing and licensing programme to extend the brand’s reach. The aim is to give more children, parents and educators access to the Learning Time with Timmy experience.
Next year sees the 30th anniversary of Wallace & Gromit and the studio are keen to talk to licensing and promotional partners for their anniversary campaign.
