The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music, a new cultural centre designed by CookFox Architects, is opening on 13 June in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Located at Monmouth University, the new attraction will tell the story of music in the US while celebrating Bruce Springsteen's work within that tradition.
It has been conceived as a multi-use destination for exhibition, education, performance and research.

The 30,000 square-foot building houses exhibits on Springsteen's music and American music, as well as the Springsteen archives; a 240-seat auditorium for concerts, academic lectures and video screenings; and gallery space for rotating exhibitions.
"The origin of this project, what drew me in, was a bond I felt with one of our generation’s greatest storytellers," said Rick Cook, founding partner of CookFox.
"That has been a thread through every aspect of the design of the building," he added.
Celebrating Bruce Springsteen’s music
"As a team we were inspired by Bruce Springsteen’s honesty, bravery and authenticity while designing the visitor experience, the form and proportions of the building, its materiality, the phenomenally high-performing auditorium space, and the relationship of the architecture to the exhibits, archives and content."
The Springsteen archives include artefacts such as the musician's papers and notes, all forms of recorded music, programmes, posters and ticket stubs.

As for the centre's experiential exhibitions, guests will discover eight galleries displaying rare artefacts, iconic photography, a hands-on rehearsal studio, and an immersive concert experience.
Objects to go on view include famous instruments, garments worn on stage, lyric notebooks, set lists, alternate album covers, early concert posters, and more.
