Futuroscope in France has been voted the world's best theme park in this year's Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Located in the French region of Vienne, close to Poitiers, Futuroscope is known for its combination of cutting-edge technology, education and entertainment.
It has replaced last year's winner, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, in the top spot in the Travellers’ Choice awards category for best theme parks and water parks in the world.
Beto Carrero World
The awards reveal the highest-rated attractions across the globe based on Tripadvisor reviews.
In second place in this year's list is Beto Carrero World in Brazil, followed by the Waterbom Bali water park. In fourth is Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris, and in fifth is the Beach Park water park in Brazil.
Theme parks and water parks formerly had their own categories, but have now been merged.
The top UK theme park this year is Blackpool Pleasure Beach, followed by Paultons Park. In the US top spot is Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania, followed by Dollywood.
Waterbom Bali
The only Universal park to make the cut is Universal Studios Singapore. As for Disney parks, joining Disneyland Paris in the top 25 is Hong Kong Disneyland in 24th place.
