Guide-ID, the audio tour specialist, first provided its Podcatcher audio guide to Switzerland's Maison Cailler in 2016 and, last year, helped the attraction upgrade to its new Podcatcher Pro solution.
The chocolate experience welcomes thousands of visitors every year, with an engaging guest journey that explores the full story of cacao, from harvesting to the final chocolate bar.
The experience is structured into three stages: immersive storytelling rooms, an ingredients-and-production showcase, and a tasting room.

The storytelling rooms trace chocolate's history from cacao's Aztec origins to modern-day traditions. The iconic tasting room is the grand finale, where visitors sample a generous selection of Cailler's signature chocolates.
A modern solution
Maison Cailler chose Guide-ID's Podcatcher audio guide partly because of its multilingual support, which was essential given the attraction's international visitor base.
After nearly a decade, Maison Cailler upgraded to the Podcatcher Pro in 2025, and a key requirement for the new system was that it does not rely on a touchscreen, prioritising ease of use. The Podcatcher Pro also features AI-powered translation and AI-generated voice, reducing both costs and production time.
Following the move to Guide-ID's flagship product, synchronisation time improved dramatically, from hours with the old device to just a few minutes with the Podcatcher Pro.

The Basecamp platform now automatically synchronises languages, eliminating manual processes and saving the team significant time.
The original goal of the partnership was clear from the beginning: to offer visitors a high-quality narrative journey from start to finish, and this continues to be upheld with the move to Podcatcher Pro.
Seamless transition
The migration from Podcatcher to Podcatcher Pro was carried out without disrupting the visitor experience; the attraction closed for only a few days.
Guide-ID's team migrated all audio files to the new platform, while the operational support specialist personally handled the on-site equipment installation, describing the process as "straightforward and easy to understand."
The upgrade was also aligned with Nestlé's IT department priorities, as modernising the infrastructure was an important internal goal, making the new platform a fit for both operational and corporate needs.
Plus, the operations support specialist at Maison Cailler, Sam Yi, has 24/7 independent access to the platform, allowing her to update audio files, modify text, and monitor equipment without relying on external support.
The analytics dashboard provided by Guide-ID has become a core operational tool for the Maison Cailler team, used daily to monitor beacon placement, language usage stats, and overall tour performance.

Maison Cailler's upgrade to the Podcatcher Pro demonstrates how a dependable and innovative audio guide solution, supported by a trusted partnership with Guide-ID, can enhance the visitor experience, boost operational efficiency, and maintain a successful decade-long collaboration.
"Our partnership has been successful over the years thanks to a few key factors. I always receive quick and helpful support, whether it's for a major issue or a simple question, and that builds real trust," says Yi.
"The solution itself is also very reliable, requiring little intervention from our side, which is essential for Maison Cailler and its maintenance team. And overall, the collaboration is smooth and positive, making it easy to work together and keep a stable, long-term relationship."
The firm adds: "For Guide-ID, this kind of collaboration fills us with pride. It has been a partnership built on trust, mutual support, and real growth on both sides.
"Seeing how our customers evolve over the years is exactly what pushes us to keep developing solutions that meet their needs."
Guide-ID recently shared more details about the benefits of Group Tour Mode for Podcatcher Pro, which enables audio to be easily synchronised for an entire group.
