Moment Factory creates immersive botanical world for Futuroscope

The multi-sensory, high-capacity experience puts visitors at the heart of the story

Moment Factory, a multidisciplinary entertainment studio with 25 years of expertise in creating immersive experiences, has once again partnered with Futuroscope to create La Serre des Mondes, an immersive botanical world.

This multi-sensory permanent attraction launched in February 2026 for the park’s 39th season, and illustrates how narrative environments can elevate theme park offerings and heighten visitor engagement.

This second major partnership between Moment Factory and Futuroscope follows the internationally acclaimed Les Abysses de Lumière at Aquascope, which has been honoured with numerous industry awards, including the 2025 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in WaterParks.

Situated near Poitiers, Futuroscope Xperiences welcomes 2.5 million visitors each year and continues to push innovation in European theme parks.

As such, the park commissioned Moment Factory to turn Pavilion 360 into a cutting-edge attraction that transforms visitors from passive observers to active, free-flowing participants.

Rodolphe Bouin, chairman of Futuroscope's Management Board (FMD), says: "Following the success of Aquascope, Moment Factory was a natural choice to bring new life to Pavilion 360.

"They consistently deliver innovative solutions that are both operationally robust and creatively daring, allowing us to surprise visitors’ senses while optimizing existing infrastructure without major construction."

Four-act spatial story

Led by Moment Factory’s creative teams with technical expertise from FMD, this immersive experience blends narrative design, projection mapping, and responsive systems to turn the space into a living ecosystem that unfolds across a four-act spatial story.

Guests begin in the workshop of botanist Isaac Verdelius, where his unusual botanical collection responds to their presence. They then explore the greenhouse, which is facing a threat to its delicate balance.

Verdelius invites them into a secure airlock (SAS), where he learns what is wrong with his collection and asks the guests to help save his plants.

The finale gathers visitors around 18 drums connected to a giant tree. Following pulses of light, they work together to send rhythmic beats that help restore the ecosystem.

Alexandre Lupien, creative director at Moment Factory, says: "The Futuroscope team always brings us stimulating challenges, and we were eager to embark on this second collaboration with them. With La Serre des Mondes, we really wanted to place visitors at the heart of the action.

"Together, we imagined a living, breathing, interactive botanical world that engages all the senses and lets guests work together to experience a truly fulfilling collective moment."

Optimising existing assets

The contemporary global theme park landscape demands constant innovation, balanced with the realities of day-to-day operations.

This project serves as an exemplar of strategic asset revitalisation and, by repurposing a former installation into an attraction with a higher capacity of 800 visitors per hour over a 17-minute cycle, shows how immersive walkthrough experiences can optimise the potential of existing park assets.

While the sector is often saturated with screen-based media, La Serre des Mondes stands apart with its hybrid scenography.

People explore a vibrant, immersive digital jungle installation.

By integrating physical components, such as the greenhouse structure, a large scenic tree, and real instruments, into advanced digital environments, the experience delivers a sensory depth that resonates with today's audiences, who are looking for authentic, collective engagement.

This project cements Moment Factory’s position as a key creative and technological collaborator for themed destinations, park operators, and family entertainment centres (FECs) globally.

Recent projects from the studio include a third collaboration with Universal Studios for the Super Nintendo World lands, Curiosity Cove at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore's largest indoor nature-inspired playscape for young children; and a Real Madrid–themed interactive journey at Bernabéu stadium with Realmadrid Games.

Last month, Moment Factory celebrated the success of Arbora Lumina, the latest instalment of its Lumina Enchanted Night Walk series. The project with the Département de l’Eure brings the Lumina experience to its oldest location to date: Domaine d’Harcourt, home to one of the country's best-preserved castles and oldest arboretums.
