Exhibits Development Group (EDG), a global leader in travelling exhibitions, has announced the debut of Dinosaurs of the Sahara at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, Ohio on 26 May 2023. This new exhibition comes from world-renowned palaeontologist and professor Paul Sereno and the team at the University of Chicago Fossil Lab, which is the top-ranked palaeontology programme in the US.
Visitors can discover some of the most important African dinosaur discoveries made by Sereno and his team over the last three decades, alongside recent discoveries from the team’s expedition to Niger in autumn 2022.
Showcasing fascinating fossil discoveries
All of the dinosaurs in Dinosaurs of the Sahara were found in Niger and Morocco, where Sereno and his team worked in temperatures of up to 130° Fahrenheit, in some of the most challenging and remote regions of the Sahara. The team discovered more than 100 tons of fossil material in the region, including the SuperCroc and the Pterosaur. The new exhibition showcases fossils from three different horizons during the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods.

EDG offers seven different travelling dinosaur exhibitions, including fossil-based exhibitions with the Fossil Lab and animatronic exhibitions from Stage Nine Exhibits. The firm’s latest co-production with The Aimes, partners from Italy and Dubai, will bring the eagerly-awaited immersive Evolution dinosaur experience to North America in 2024.
The EDG team will be exhibiting at this week’s Canadian Association of Science Centers (CASC) conference, which takes place from 15 – 17 May. In addition, the team will be present at the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) Annual Meeting in Denver from 19 – 21 May, at booth #1145.
