Titanic The Artifact Exhibition (Touring)

Experiential Media Group (E/M Group), an industry leader in creating travelling exhibitions and experiences, and its affiliate RMS Titanic, Inc. (RMST) have announced that TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition is embarking on a six-month run at Ohio’s Center for Science and Industry (COSI) from 9 March 2024.

Through this engaging exhibition, which has already been enjoyed by over 30 million people around the world, visitors will be able to experience the wonder and tragedy of the world’s most famous ocean liner.

The Exhibition is a fascinating experience for people of all ages, with over 200 genuine artefacts that have been recovered from the wreckage. It also features interactive environments, full-scale room re-creations, captivating stories, and a unique video that shows how the Titanic rests on the ocean floor today.

Several unique objects that haven’t been seen in decades will be on display at COSI, including one of the 32 ‘davit arms’ from the Ship, a device that resembles a crane and was used to lower lifeboats into the water.

A powerful exhibition

“We are thrilled to bring the epic and emotionally powerful TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition to COSI,” says Dr. Frederic Bertley, president, and CEO of COSI.

“Featuring intricate recreations of the Ship itself and poignant authentic artifacts this Exhibition vividly retells the unforgettable stories of Titanic’s passengers and crew. Spanning all facets of this storied tragedy, from feats of engineering to tales of loss and heroism, Titanic grippingly captures a pivotal moment in history that continues to fascinate and move us today. This Exhibition promises to be an experience you won’t soon forget.”

TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition transports guests back in time to April 1912, the year the ship set out on its inaugural expedition. Upon receiving a replica boarding pass, visitors take on the role of a passenger and go through the Titanic in chronological order. While touring galleries that showcase the Grand Staircase, First Class Parlor Suite, Verandah Café, Promenade Deck, and other features, they learn about the most well-known ship in the world, its passengers, and its crew.

In addition, they have the opportunity to touch an iceberg, which helps them comprehend how cold the ocean was that tragic night.

The exhibition covers around 10,000 square feet in COSI’s largest gallery and can take up to 1.5 hours to fully experience.

Real artefacts on show

TITANIC: The Artifacts Exhibition is produced by E/M Group and RMST and features real artefacts recovered from the Titanic wreck site by RMST.

“Through this wonderful collaboration with COSI, we are so proud to present the story of Titanic in a compelling and impactful setting,” says Jessica Sanders, CEO of E/M Group and President of RMST.

“More than an exhibition, this an experience, an opportunity to connect with the story of Titanic and its passengers and crew in a meaningful way by learning real stories, about real people through real artifacts and full-scale reproductions. Whether we are moved by the engineering feat that was Titanic or the emigration stories of hope, the fascination of Edwardian society or the stories of loss, heroism, survival, and self-sacrifice, the story of Titanic captures a piece of our heart that we carry forward.”

Bath & Body Works is the Presenting Sponsor of TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition and Huntington Bank is the exhibit’s Supporting Sponsor.

E/M Group and RMST also recently announced a partnership with Museums Victoria. The exhibition will be displayed at the Melbourne Museum in Victoria, Australia until 14 April 2024.
