Company announces new addition to its award-winning interpretations platform

Guru, the app specialist for the cultural sector, has announced the expansion of its award-winning interpretations platform with the addition of a new multi-site template UI. This makes it an ideal choice for multi-site institutions, historical societies, local tourism authorities, branded properties with several sites, historical sites with many buildings or outposts, and more.

The new addition is part of the existing Guru platform, meaning that users who opt for the templated front-end can still benefit from the current back-end. As such, each site will have its own cloud-based CMS and data portals, so changes will be live for visitors straight away.

Feature-packed platform

The extension includes proximity indicators, which tell visitors which sites are close by. Users will also benefit from the full features of the Guru platform, such as:

  • Audio tours
  • Image, video and text transcript content
  • Multiple languages
  • AR and VR
  • Interactive maps and wayfinding
  • Games, scavenger hunts, surveys, quizzes and push notifications
  • Ticketing and memberships
  • Onsite and offsite models
  • CMS and data portals

“We have been spending a lot of time this past year thinking through our UX and UI, and came to the conclusion that a templated multi-site app was missing on the market,” says Guru CEO, Suzie Dergham.

“We are not about reinventing the wheel for each new client, so we templated a new UI to better organize the various physical sites that make up many large institutions, and ‘umbrella’d’ cultural authorities.”

Last year, Guru also added a web app to its interpretation platform, meaning that visitors can simply scan a QR code to get content on their phone, without the need to download anything. The web app can be launched in as little as three weeks, complete with the attraction’s brand colours and logos, making it an ideal solution for institutions with simple digital interpretation needs.
