The competition for the new Qatar Art Mill gallery, which ran from June 2015 to May 2017, has been won by Chile based design company Elemental

The brief for the Art Mill International Design Competition stated that “while predominantly comprising gallery and exhibition space, the museum’s brief also includes extensive education, conference and event space, as well as state-of-the-art conservation and storage to match the diversity of the collection … there will also be facilities to support the community and provide amenities for visiting families.”

It has yet to be announced as to whether Qatar Museums‘ latest gallery will house Qatar’s modern and contemporary art collections, or display international loan exhibitions.
